Where do you recruit?
We recruit for specific career areas. For example, a university with a strong food science emphasis may or may not be as strong in mechanical engineering, accounting, or marketing. To see which schools we plan to attend, see our recruiting schedule .

May I apply if McKee Foods doesn't recruit at my school?
If you meet the qualifications listed for one of our internships or full-time positions, we strongly encourage you to respond, regardless of which school you attend.

What is it like to work at McKee Foods?
We may be a little biased, but we believe this is an outstanding place to work. The culture is friendly and supportive, and the work is challenging and rewarding. We are America's number-one snack-cake producer, and we are constantly working to improve.

Are your internships paid?
Typically, yes. We aim to pay our internship positions at a level that's competitive within the relevant labor market. Often our interns are eligible for benefits, such as 401(k) , paid time off, and health insurance.

Will I qualify for overtime?
Most internships are paid by the hour; therefore, you are eligible for overtime. However, you will be working along side other professional employees whose positions may be ineligible for overtime pay.

What do you look for in new employees?
The same blend of dependability, hard work, conscientiousness, and people skills that allow for academic success translate very well here. We are always looking for new ideas in all areas, and these qualities are critical for success. Within our culture, maintaining a high level of performance and living our Guiding Values are the most important qualities we look for in new employees. Because of this, when people come here to work, they tend to become long-term employees.

Do you hire international students?
We hire the most qualified people with the ability to work in the United States, regardless of where they are from. This applies both to internships and full-time positions.

Where will I work?
You will likely work in one of four locations. Collegedale, Tennessee, just outside of Chattanooga, is home to our corporate headquarters. We have five production facilities in this area. Gentry, Arkansas, and Stuarts Draft, Virginia, are other locations with significant production operations. The company also operates a distribution facility in Kingman, Arizona.
With a nationwide sales force, opportunities for sales and marketing internships may also be available in other states.

Do you pay for housing?
If you are from out-of-town, we will help you find inexpensive lodging. You'll be responsible for a nominal amount, and we will pay the rest.

Do you pay for relocation?
We will reimburse you for mileage expenses related to your relocation and for meals and lodging along the way.
