Product Packaging:

How do I read the code on the carton?
Our carton codes vary from brand to brand. For the most accurate information, contact Consumer Affairs and they will be happy to help.

I bought a product, and the packaging says “Not labeled for resale.” What does that mean?
“Not labeled for resale” simply means that the product was not originally packaged to be sold individually. It looks and tastes the same as a product that is packaged for individual sale because it is the same. The only difference is that the packaging may not have all the information that would be on the same product if it was labeled to be sold separately.

How do I tell if a product contains an ingredient I am allergic to?
First, check the list of ingredients on the nutrition label. Every ingredient that goes into our products is listed on that label. If you still have questions, you can contact Consumer Affairs or visit the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network at www.foodallergy.org.

I can’t figure out what the Nutrition label means. Can you help?
Our Consumer Affairs specialists can help you understand the label.

Product Questions:

What does the green Snack Smart® seal that I’ve started seeing on some of your packaging mean?
Snack Smart® is a tool to help our consumers choose snacks that best suit their own and their families’ needs. This Web site contains information on Snack Smart®, including the criteria and a downloadable product list.

Help! I can’t find your products in my local market. Can you tell me where I can buy them?
For Sunbelt® products, you can use the product locator on the brand site. If you need help finding our other products, Consumer Affairs has access to a database that can tell you if a product is available in your area and where you can find it.

I can’t find my favorite product anymore. Does this mean that it’s discontinued?
Not necessarily. We have many products that are seasonal, and some are only available in certain areas of the country. To find out if a specific product has been discontinued contact Consumer Affairs. They can help you find the product at a local retailer if it is available.

Are recipes available?
We do not give out recipes for the products we make — those recipes are trade secrets. If you are interested in recipes that call for our products as an ingredient, please visit our Little Debbie brand Web site.

How long after the expiration date is a product good?
We guarantee the freshness of our products when eaten within five days following the expiration date on the packaging. Please see our Quality Pledge, located on the end of the product carton, for more information.

Can your products be frozen?
We do not recommend freezing Sunbelt® granola cereal or our breakfast products. Other products may be frozen (before the expiration date) without significant changes in product quality. In fact, consumers have called to let us know that frozen Nutty Bars and Swiss Cake Rolls are out of this world!

Does McKee Foods use any animal by-products?
We do not use any animal oils or fats. However, in some of our products we do use milk, milk proteins, eggs, and gelatin. These will be listed among the ingredients on our packaging.

Are your products made in the USA?
All our manufacturing facilities are located in the United States, and we try to buy ingredients that are made in America, but we have to depend on our suppliers to provide us with the best ingredients at the best value.

Are your products certified kosher?
Yes, they are. We are certified by: Triangle K . Visit their Web site for more information about the organization and their criteria for certification.

What if I have specific questions about a product?
If you have any questions about our products, this Web site includes information on how to Contact Us.

I have an idea for a new product. Who should I send that to?
McKee Foods doesn’t accept new product ideas, but if you have a comment or suggestion about any of our existing products we’d love to hear from you.

Company Information:

I'm doing a school report and need information about your company and brands. Where can I find that?
This Web site is a great resource for information about our history, our brands, and other information that will help with school reports. We also have a corporate fact sheet in .pdf format you can download.

Can I buy stock in McKee Foods or Little Debbie®?
No. We are a privately-held business and we are not traded on any stock exchange.

Can I get a financial report for the company?
Because McKee Foods is privately held, we don't publish financial reports like publicly-traded companies do. Most of the information we have available to the public can be obtained through this Web site, but you can Contact Us directly if you don’t find what you need.

Where can I find information about becoming an independent distributor for McKee Foods?
We sell our products to independent distributors, and they sell them to the stores, so distributors aren’t employees of McKee Foods. They’re our customers! Think you’d be a good distributor? We have a list of current Distributorship Opportunities on this site.

I would like to talk to someone at McKee Foods about becoming one of your ingredient suppliers. Who should I talk to?
If you call Consumer Affairs toll-free at (800) 522-4499, they can forward your inquiry to the most appropriate person.

How can I find out what jobs are currently open at McKee Foods?
Thanks for your interest in working for McKee Foods! We post our current openings, plus information on internships, benefits, and what it’s like to work here in the Careers section on this site.
