 cKee Foods is proud to introduce the Snack Smart® seal, created to help our consumers  choose snacks and sweet treats that fit their families’ lifestyles and nutritional needs. Just look for the Snack Smart® seal on packages of Little Debbie® and Sunbelt® products to quickly find smart choices for you and your family!
How Does a Snack Get the Snack Smart® Seal?
When you see the Snack Smart® seal, you know you’re making a smart choice. For a product to display the seal, each serving must meet criteria which were developed by our nutrition staff, as well as one of the following:
- The snack contains nourishing ingredients, such as whole grains, or is fortified with beneficial nutrients, such as calcium.
or
- The snack contains less than 35% sugar by weight.
or
- The snack meets the FDA’s criteria for nutrient content claims, such as "low fat."
or
- The snack has been reformulated to reduce the content of fat or sugar, or to have specific health or wellness benefits.

You’ll start to see the Snack Smart® seal on Little Debbie® and Sunbelt® products beginning in mid-July 2005. McKee Foods is committed to expanding the list of Snack Smart® products and we are  working to develop new snacks and reformulate existing snacks to meet the requirements. We will regularly update our
Snack Smart® Products list, so check back often.
