Food Safety Training

he McKee Foods emphasis on quality and food safety wouldn’t be successful without knowledgeable employees. Trained employees and careful attention to food safety allow our products to meet the highest standards.

Orientation

Every employee who comes to work in our manufacturing plants receives food safety training before they ever put on a hairnet and walk in the door. We make food safety part of their orientation to the company and to their job, because that’s the only way we can assure consumers that our products are as safe as we can make them.

New supervisors receive even more intensive instruction. Since most supervisors have been hourly employees in our plants, this serves as a reminder of what they’ve learned in the past as well as to reinforcing the responsibilities they have in their role as a production supervisor.

Ongoing Food Safety Refreshers

We want employees to remain informed and vigilant, so we provide continuing on-the-job training, too. We never want to let our guard down where food safety is concerned, so ongoing training encompasses employees and management in all production areas, maintenance and engineering, environmental services, and shipping and receiving. Even contractors who work temporarily in our plants receive training to remind them they’ve stepped into a facility whose business is making food products.

Food-safety training topics, to name a few, include:

  • Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Hair Protection and Hand Washing.
  • Preventing Foodborne Illness.
  • Managing Food Allergens.
  • Shipping and Warehouse Housekeeping.
